Judge Threatens Trump with Sanctions in $10 Billion Lawsuit Over BBC’s Doctored Speech– slaynews.com

A federal magistrate judge has threatened President Donald Trump with sanctions over his availability for a deposition in his $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC.

Trump sued the foreign broadcaster after the BBC produced a documentary that deceptively spliced together his remarks made nearly an hour apart to make it seem as though his Jan. 6 speech was a call for violence.

The edited video also omitted Trump’s call for peaceful protest.

The dispute follows the BBC’s request to compel Trump’s testimony before discovery closes December 18.

The broadcaster says his attorneys reported that presidential duties left him unavailable during that period.

Trump’s legal team responded by accusing the BBC of maliciously doctoring his speech to influence the 2024 election.
